Dr André Ufer is an expert on security in the extractive industries as well as in global supply chains. His field of experience include, among others, the development and regulation of the extractive industries - especially in many fragile and post-conflict countries in Africa and Central Asia (Afghanistan, Democratic Republic of Congo, West Africa, Ethiopia, etc.) - as well as the implementation of and advice on certification standards, due diligence and on sustainable supply chains. André advises companies, governments and various organisations such as the World Bank, the EU or the German GIZ, for example on the implementation of transparent mineral supply chains for diamonds, gemstones and gold. Furthermore, Andre is familiar with the production and markets for these metals and commodities. He holds a PhD in economics and speaks German, English and French.
"Supply chain security will be one of the big topics on the political agenda in the future. From 2023, for example, companies will have to ensure that human rights are respected along their entire supply chain and be able to prove this. There are major risks here, especially for reputation, if companies do not keep a close enough eye on their suppliers abroad. This is precisely where Solitaire Advisory, with Dr André Ufer as a leading expert, can actively advise companies and protect them from damage to their image," says Dr Christoph U. Eichel, CEO of Solitaire Advisory.
